At A.C.E Child Care Centre educators use the Early Years Learning Framework and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework to guide the children’s play by carefully designing learning activities, and providing a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment.
A stimulating and challenging program will be planned by the educators to help each child develop to their fullest potential — physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.
A.C.E Child Care Centre operates a Kindergarten Program that is registered with the Department Of Education and Training.
The kindergarten room is run by a qualified Kindergarten Teacher. Diana Giasoumi has a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and Diploma of Teaching – Early Childhood.
The age of the children in the kindergarten room is 3 – 5 years of age.
The kindergarten program operates 5 days a week in conjunction with the long day care program.
A stimulating and challenging program is planned to facilitate each child to develop to their fullest potential - physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. The curriculum is adapted to suit each child's level of development and interest, and will foster their confidence and independence.
Developmental profiles and observations of the children are kept and these enable the educators to continually plan at a level that is appropriate for all children.
School Readiness Program
A.C.E Child Care Centre plans a school transition program to assist children in routine preparations for school life. We aim to ensure that children develop independence in managing time, belongings, personal needs. We also develop social and emotional maturity to cope with the demands of school and develop language and motor skills to enable them to participate fully and effectively in the classroom and playground.
Literacy Focus
In the kindergarten program at A.C.E Child Care Centre we have a strong focus on literacy through reading, writing, listening, viewing and speaking at every opportunity.
Numeracy Focus
At A.C.E Child Care Centre we provide many opportunities for children to develop an understanding of mathematical concepts, such as shape and space, measurement, number, time etc.
Gross Motor Focus
Gross motor skills skills are defined as the movements of the large muscles of the body. Gross motor activities include climbing, dancing, hopping, jumping, balancing, throwing and catching a ball etc.
Fine Motor Focus
Fine Motor activities involve children using their arms, hands, fingers and eyes, which is a forerunner to the pre-schooler learning to write. Some examples are cutting, pasting, painting, drawing, writing, threading, puzzles, play dough manipulation etc.
Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
Our sustainable and environmental awareness program includes vegetable garden and planting program; using recycled materials in kinder activities where possible; learning to recycle materials appropriately; composting; games and discussions to educate children about recycling and being aware of caring for the environment.

Each child eligible for kinder funding will have their fees reduced weekly if they are attending for at least 15 hours per week.
At A.C.E Child Care Centre, the curriculum in the toddler room will be based on the notion that children learn through Play. What looks like "just play" is serious work for children and when properly guided produces important learning.
In our toddler rooms we provide learning experiences for children from 18 months to 3 years old.
In our Toddler room we create a safe and secure environment that allows children to develop their emerging abilities, becoming more confident and independent. A stimulating and challenging program will be planned to facilitate each child to develop to their fullest potential - physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.
Developmental profiles and observations of the children are kept and these enable the educators to continually plan at a level that is appropriate for all children.
Group time
In the Toddler room we offer group times each day which promotes communication skills through sharing of ideas and listening. This time incorporates songs, discussions on interest areas, games and stories.
Routine
We recognise that routines for Toddlers are an important opportunity for learning and build a sense of security. Performing daily, predictable tasks while having fun is a chance for the children to build their self-confidence, communication and social skills and the ability to develop their self-control.
Socialisation
Socialisation will be gently encouraged and guided to help friendships and empathy form.
Self Help Skills
Your child’s growing independence is supported by caring educators who will help them to learn to feed themselves, help to pack away toys, toilet train etc. We also encourage children to wash their hands and faces, hand out water bottles and dress themselves.
Language
We offer a variety of books, construction blocks, games, puzzles and natural materials to help to develop the children’s language.
Maths Concepts
We also begin to introduce maths concepts, such as counting, primary colours and shapes.
Creativity & Imagination
Our educators encourage creativity and imagination by providing opportunities for drawing and painting, dancing, singing, story telling, role playing and dressing up.
Gross Motor Focus
We encourage development of the large muscles of the body through Gross motor activities such as climbing, dancing, jumping, balancing, throwing and rolling a ball etc.
Fine Motor Focus
Fine Motor activities involve children using their arms, hands, fingers and eyes. Some examples are painting, drawing, puzzles, play dough, manipulative blocks etc.
Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
Our sustainable and environmental awareness program includes vegetable garden and planting program; looking for bugs; learning to recycle materials appropriately; composting; being aware of and caring for the environment.
At A.C.E Child Care Centre the Babies Room aims to provide a nurturing, caring and safe environment for all our babies to learn, grow and develop.
Through observations of the children and close consultation with their families educators will build knowledge of each child’s strengths, needs, interests and cultural beliefs, which forms the basis of the baby room program.
At A.C.E Child Care Centre, the program in the babies room will be based on the notion that children learn through PLAY. What looks like "just play" is serious work for babies and when properly guided produces important learning.
The children are provided with stimulating experiences and meaningful activities that cater to their individual needs and further develop their natural curiosity. This allows them to explore the world around them and to develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
Developmental profiles and observations of the children are kept and these enable the educators to continually plan at a level that is appropriate for all children.
Play
The Baby Room offers a range of stimulating experiences to foster the development of each baby. Our program offers each child one-on-one and group activities, gentle play and safe exploration. We provide opportunities for the babies to learn through play, both planned and spontaneous, catering to the child’s individual interests. The babies enjoy lots of spontaneity through music, singing and dancing, stories, outdoor play, and many other activities.
Play is where the babies can enjoy mastering new skills of grasping, moving and exploring. They also develop their senses, such as sight, touch, smell, taste and hearing.
Routines
At A.CE Child Care Centre we understand the importance of following each baby’s home routine. Babies routines vary greatly so we try to follow each baby’s individual routine from home and to create a homely environment. Our program incorporates many aspects of the home environment to ensure continuity of care.
